Automotive tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers face documentation demands that most other industries do not: PPAP, IMDS, IATF 16949 alignment, and detailed traceability. Grades and tensile targets
SAE 1006/1008/1010 remain the dominant grades for cold-drawn automotive-grade wire — used in fasteners, springs and small forged parts. What differs from generic fastener supply is the tightness of tensile scatter demanded and the frequency of documented testing. Buyers should specify tensile scatter within a coil as an explicit acceptance criterion.
IATF 16949 alignment vs certification
Not every wire supplier is IATF 16949 certified — but a supplier serving automotive tier-2 should be aligned with the standard’s process discipline: change control, quality gate metrics, corrective action management, and documented supplier development. Ask your supplier how they handle non-conformances. The answer tells you a lot.
Sample and PPAP process

Volume commitments and long-term supply
Automotive buyers typically want long-term supply agreements with agreed volume and price mechanisms. Turkish suppliers can absorb reasonable volume commitments — 500-2,000 tonnes/year is a typical mid-size fit. Discuss volume forecasting cadence and lead-time flexibility early.

Do you supply EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates by default?
Yes. Every export shipment travels with an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate showing chemistry, tensile properties and dimensional data for the actual heat. This is our default, not a paid add-on.
What are your typical lead times for EU and US buyers?
Standard grades ship 2–4 weeks from PO confirmation. Add 5–10 days sea freight to European destinations and 20–25 days to US East Coast under normal conditions. Custom grades or specialty packaging may extend production time.
Can you handle small trial orders before volume commitment?

What documentation do you provide for EU and US customs clearance?
